While we were in Big Sur for a wedding (WOAH, wait till you see it!) we took some photos on the amazing property of Big Sur Getaway, and had an amazing feast prepared by Tina Dang, read more over on A Desert Fete!

Editing a wedding to share next week. One word. BRIDE.

We were giddy with excitement when Caryn emailed us back in February (seems like forever ago!) about photographing her upcoming wedding in Ojai. It happens to be (one of) Michelle’s hometown(s), and it is on my fantasy list of places to live. Not to mention the venue was called Twin Peaks. (Hello.) Little did we know how incredibly stunning this ranch would be! And how amazingly cool Caryn and Paul were. Caryn is a documentary film maker (and she also has a backyard art gallery!), and Paul had the wits to make sure punk was well represented the night of their wedding. (It was the only wedding besides my own where I heard the Stooges!) As usual, we like to let the photos do the talking. But, don’t miss Caryn’s dress!!! WHAT! And, like many of our rad clients, this wedding was such an amazing labor of love. I met Caryn’s sister when she was out front arranging flowers. Friends played live music during the ceremony and the cocktail hour, while other’s swapped duties at the turntables. It was an effing beautiful day, and we are so thankful to have been there!

I already shared a mini sneak peek of Kelly and Anthony’s elopement over on A Desert Fete, but here are the rest. This was the real deal, folks. Kelly emailed me on a Tuesday and asked if I would be free to photograph their elopement that Thursday. Would I.
I met Kelly and Anthony at their suite at the Pearl Hotel for some fun portraits and getting ready photos, then accompanied them to the gorgeous bay side San Diego City Hall, where I not only photographed the elopement, but acted as witness! I then tagged along as they picked up sammys from Influx, and enjoyed them over flights of craft beer at Bottlecraft. Two of my favorite joints!
It was such a fun, sweet morning. Thank you guys for allowing me to be around on this crazy special and intimate day! I wish you all the best is the world.
There is something so rad about elopements, and Michelle and I are eager to photograph more, so please hit us up if you are interested!

What? I know, right. Friends, meet Leeann and Jacob. These two sweet love birds flew Michelle and I up to San Francisco this summer to photograph their beautiful union at CuriOdyssey in San Mateo. Seeing the love and joy between these guys, and their whole extended families brought tears to my eyes throughout the day and into the night. I may or may not have asked Leeann’s parents about the secret to bringing up kids that would be close siblings as adults. And that was before I saw 50 or so people end up on the floor during their families anthem song. (Please do click the link.)  I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Leeann, Jacob. We love and miss you guys! Congratulations and good luck on your new adventure in Portland, and we will hit you up when we are there next summer!!!!! Love, J + M.
